Dorency Oxygen Absorber

Dorency oxygen absorber sachets are made of air-permeable material containing mainly iron powder to absorb oxygen within the air-tight packaging and prolong the shelf life of foods with water activity below 0.9 like bread powder, bean cake, pasta, sausage, grain, biscuit, cookie, tortilla, nuts, chocolate, tea etc. The iron absorbs 99.9% of oxygen from sealed packages causing the iron to rust, which controls oxygen concentration below 0.1% to protect our foods from oxidation, spoilage, mold, discoloration and odor issues with no harmful preservatives needed.

Dorency Oxygen absorbers can be used in our aluminum stand up pouches, Mylar bags and our food vacuum bags, as well as mason jars.

Handy hint using oxygen absorbers.

Your oxygen absorbers will come in a vacuum packed bag of either 150 or 80 oxygen absorbers. For some this maybe to many to use in 1 go so the remainder oxygen absorber need to be vacuum sealed again so they do not activate and be waisted. The oxygen absorber can be exposed for up to 2 hrs but must be either used or resealed after this time. You will notice that the oxygen absorber will heat up as they start to activate.

So with this in mind, for an example you have 10 Mylar bags or jars to seal up with oxygen absorbers in them. Open the main bulk bag and take 10 out or the amount required for the job, Get a vacuum sealer bag that is twice the size of the left over oxygen absorbers and place them in it and vacuum seal them to keep them for later. When you re open this bag cut neatly along the seal line and remove the oxygen absorbers that you want to use and vacuum seal the remainder in the same vacuum sealer bag. This way you are not wasting a vacuum sealer bag every time you open them to use some. Unfortunately you can not use the original bag they came in.

• They take 3 months to absorb all the oxygen in the sealed bag.
• You can put twice as many Dorency oxygen absorbers in the bag so air is absorbed quicker with food that my not keep as long
• They are designed to absorb oxygen from food that has 0.9% content of water or less
